2004 Originally from Brooklyn, Madeline Artenberg came to poetry twelve years ago from a visual and theatre background. Her poetry has appeared in anthologies such as Caprice. She performs frequently in the NYC area, has won several Lyric Recovery poetry awards and is a semi-finalist in the 2004 contest of Margie, The American Journal of Poetry. Alexandra Fox lives in a village in England, and began writing short stories in January 2004. She has won or placed in the Momaya, Peninsular, BBC, SIWC (Canada) and Northern Echo/Orange competitions, and has been published in InkPot, Aesthetica and many ezines. Lexie writes with Alex Keegan’s Boot Camp. Jack Granath works in a library in Kansas City. His writing has appeared in Alaska Quarterly Review, Pangolin Papers, and Clackamas Literary Review among other publications. A.W. Hill lives and writes in Los Angeles. His metaphysical thriller, Enoch’s Portal (Champion Press 2002), was optioned by Paramount for motion picture development; and his short story, “The Conductor,” appeared in Best American Erotica 2004 (Simon & Schuster). A screenplay based on the life of Nikola Tesla is currently being set up for production. Ward Kelley has seen his poems appear in journals worldwide. He is a three-time Pushcart Prize nominee whose publication credits include such journals as Plainsongs, Karamu, Another Chicago Magazine, Spillway, GSU Review, Rattle, The Chaffin Journal, Midstream, Zuzu’s Petals, Ginger Hill, Sunstone, Pif, Whetstone, Melic Review, Thunder Sandwich, Potpourri and Skylark. He was the recipient of the Nassau Review Poetry Award for 2001. Kelley is the author of two paperbacks: histories of souls, a poetry collection, and Divine Murder, a novel. He also has an epic poem, “comedy incarnate” on CD and CD-ROM. Kelley holds a BA and is currently at work on his MFA. He recently published a management theory book, Warehouse Productivity, under the name Pat Kelley. Michael McAvan is a poet from Perth, Western Australia. His work straddles the sacred and profane, fusing sexuality with spirituality, focusing on the pleasures of specific bodies and acts, rather than rigid categories of gender and sexual identity. Michael has been published in a number of journals, most recently in Excess Compassions 5th anniversary issue. Nathan Radke lives in Kingston, Canada with his wife, cats and fish. He teaches politics and sociology at Sheridan College near Toronto. Patti’s work has appeared in Salon Magazine, Women’s Studies Quarterly, Southeast Review, HipMama, and other magazines and anthologies. She co-authored with Bruce Taylor Higher Learning: Reading and Writing About College (Prentice Hall, 2001) and teaches developmental education and women’s studies courses at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Gary Sloan is a retired English professor in Ruston, Louisiana. In his retirement, he has written articles on literary figures for
Free Inquiry, Skeptical Inquirer, Skeptic, American Atheist, The Freethinker (London), and other magazines. He also
writes occasional political commentaries for Nando Media, a national newspaper service.
